How to Share Your Amazing Content

Creating your own amazing content is the best way to share your message with your audience.

As I spoke about in this previous blog, it’s ok to share other peoples content, but it’s important to have your own voice in your field.

Once you have started creating your own content you will need to work out the best ways for you to share it. Now one of the best ways to share your content (besides blogging) with your tribe or clients or customers or audience is via emails.

Emails go directly to a persons inbox and according to Harvard Business Review emails are the most cost-effective advertising method available today as well as the most measurable. Using email to connect with your customers is hands down the best bang for your buck.

But wait a minute If you are new to business you may be thinking I have a FREE email account! Gmail and Hotmail for example are email accounts and are definitely cost effective because I don’t have to pay for them!

These accounts are great and I use my Gmail account everyday. You may have even seen some of my Gmail tips that I have shared on my own Facebook page.

But you may have also heard about these things called Email Marketing Platforms and be wondering why should I use these when I can simply use Gmail or Hotmail.

Or you may have looked into these and thought that’s just too hard to get my head around right now. I am too busy to learn another new tool and bedsides Gmail is free and i have to pay for those email platforms.

I totally understand. Especially when we are starting out in business and watching each dollar spent. For me Email marketing was one of the first things I PAID for when I was able to reinvest back into my business.

Here are FIVE reasons why I believe to take your business up a notch and give you back some free time to work on your business, an Email Marketing Platform is something your should seriously consider.

#1 You can send the same email to many people at once!

Yes you can also do that in Gmail. You can set up a group and send the same email to everyone.

BUT in the “email back world” there are rules and regulations. They look kind of suspiciously on you and your account if you send 300 emails from your account all at the same time ( that is 300 of the same email l and yes “ they” know when you do that)

It means you may end up in peoples SPAM folder or worse still your email doesn’t even get delivered!!

Using an email marketing platform improves your chances of your email being delivered because they come from a place that is trusted in the internet world. Email marketing platforms work hard to keep their reputation clean. That means when you send your emails via them you ride on their reputation and your customers receive your emails!

#2 Personalisation and Design

Along with your emails actually getting delivered An email marketing platform allows you to easily personalise each of those 300 emails. Sending an email addressed and signed off in your particular style is made easy. This is a much better way to develop your Know, Like and Trust factor; who doesn’t like getting an email addressed to them instead of Hi All!!

These days many people use their Smartphones to check their emails. These platforms allow you to preview how your email will look like on numerous devices.

Now that you know your emails are more likely to be delivered and not end up in JUNK or SPAM folders, are personal and look great, the next thing these platforms do is let you know how many people actually opened your emails. You can write the best email on the planet but if nobody opens them then whats the point?

#3 Keeping an engaged list

To make it even easier for you to keep a list of interested and engaged people  most email marketing platforms have a function called "list cleaning “ where you can remove people who haven’t opened your emails in a very long time. Doing this improves your stats! ( more on these in #5 )

You can also send an email to the people who haven’t opened in a while to ask if they’re still keen to hear from you. This is an opportunity to re-engage with them and remind them that you are still here to help! They may even jump back on board and become a customer again!

#4 Legal Stuff

Then there’s the legal stuff

GDPR, privacy requirements, allowing people to easily unsubscribe from your list (actually you really want people to be able to do this  - because you want people to engage with you and be happy to hear from you - if you send emails to people and they don’t open them -then you become thought of as a spammer and “they” won’t deliver your emails anymore, so best that this is something people can do and your email marketing platform has this legal stuff built in. But I digress)

All of these things we may not fully understand but we do need to comply with and these platforms do this for you.

#5 Analysis and Statistics

Email marketing platforms give you access to all kinds of statistics about your emails:

How many got delivered, how many got opened, how many people clicked on the cool link you sent  to access your free gift or next course or item on sale.

Looking at and reviewing these stats can help you make decisions about what your customers are really interested in and you can send them more of the same! This makes them feel like you really know them and care about their needs and wants. In turn they become your fans and buy more from you!

I love looking at the statistics of the emails I send for myself and for my clients. Seeing how many people opened that email and clicked on the link fascinates me. It’s not everyones cup of tea to look at the statistics so if it’s not yours know you are not alone! And know I am more than happy to do it for you and help you use them to grow your business!

There are so many reasons why using an Email Marketing Platform is a really good idea. Even if you are just starting out.  Simply making sure that your emails are delivered to the intended recipient is as good a reason as any.

But also the other things like: personalisation, easily meeting legal privacy obligations and keeping an eye on your statistics all of these factors help you build and grow your business.

There are so many email marketing platforms options to choose from. You may have heard of these popular ones like MailChimp, MailerLite, Active Campaign and ConvertKit. All have very similar functions and features. It’s simply a matter of choosing which ones you find work best for you. I’d recommend taking some time to check them out. If you have any questions I’d be happy to help!

 I use  Convertkit.com .

You can sign up for ConvertKit’s FREE account for up to 1000 subscribers. Hit reply to this email and I can send you an invitation to join. ( Note this way I gain brownie points with ConvertKit and an extra 100 subscribers for my account)
